On July 20th, 2026, British politics began a new chapter. Andy Burnham became the seventh Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in less than a decade. He now faces an entirely different challenge, governing the entire United Kingdom. The questions confronting the new Prime Minister are enormous. Can he tackle Britain's cost of living pressures, housing crisis, struggling public services and social care system while maintaining control of government finances, Burnham has gone from Manchester's town hall to 10 Downing Street. Now comes the difficult part governing Britain.
